When taking the Viking Lines ferry service from Montauk, Long Island, New York, you will arrive at the port of New Harbor. As you come along the west side of the island and enter the channel to the Great Salt Pond, you will be taken by the beauty of this port filled with all types of pleasure craft. Although slightly away from town, taxis are waiting to take you to your island destination.

For departures from New London, Connecticut, Block Island Express offers high speed passenger ferry service into Old Harbor.  Relax upon this modern, air conditioned vessel as it cruises effortlessly over the blue waters. 

For those who prefer an earlier or later departure than what the ferry companies offer, or perhaps just prefer the shorter time spent traveling, New England Airlines, Westerly, Rhode Island, provides regular commuter service to Block Island. Just over the Rhode Island/Connecticut state line, this airline offers a 15 minute trip over the blue waters of the Block Island Sound to the serenity of the green, rolling hills of this beautiful island. Charter service is also available through New England Airlines and other independent companies, such as Resort Air (401) 466-2000, an island based company.
